1. A. She caught the bus and went to the university.
    B. Having caught the bus, she went to the university.

2.A. If the thief apologises, he will be pardoned.
   B. Unless he apologises, the thief will not be pardoned.

3.A. Only a fool would believe you.
   B. None but a fool would believe you.

4.A. The boys stood up when they saw the teacher.
   B. Seeing the teacher, the boys stood up.

5.A. The sun was too hot for us to sit outside.
   B. The sun was so hot, that we could not sit outside.

6.A. Time is so precious that it cannot be wasted.
   B. Time is too precious to be wasted.

7.A. Gita is wearing a green frock and she is my sister.
   B. Gita, who is wearing a green frock, is my sister.

8.A. As soon as Joe had seated himself, he asked for some water.
   B. No sooner had Joe seated himself than he asked for some water.

9.A. Children should study hard to pass the examination.
   B. Children should study hard so as to pass the examination.

10.A. The robber saw the people and took to his heels.
     B. Seeing the people, the robber took to his heels.

11.A. One should have sympathy for the poor.
     B. One should sympathise with the poor.

12.A. Many years have passed since he wrote to me.
     B. Many years ago he wrote to me last.
