In this blog, we shall see the rules and guidelines that govern the conversion of compound sentences to complex sentences. The examples given below are taken from the assignment given in section B of Unit 2 in the English Language textbook prescribed for ISC class 11.  It is possible to change a Compound Sentence to a Complex sentence by changing one of the Coordinate Clauses to a Subordinate Clause. Coordinate Clause-  one of two or more clauses in a sentence that are of equal importance and usually joined by  and, or , or  but.
